Matt Moldover will show how he performs as a Controllerist. He will explain what he has done to integrate Live with custom Reaktor patches and "Frankensteined" MIDI controllers, creating his own style of mashup instrument. He will also show some of his Octamasher project and will be happy to answer questions. Hopefully there will be time to rock out for y'all too!
Moldover is NYC’s original Music Supervillain. He performs with a custom built mixing system, creating radical remixes and multilayered mash-ups, live on stage. Moldover has played nationwide at clubs, festivals, special events and on primetime TV and radio. Moldover’s Octamasher is an interactive installation designed around his unique mixing tools and performance concepts. Designed to be simple and intuitive, any eight people can play it together at the same time, creating a continuous stream of collaborative mash-ups. A leader in artistic communities, Moldover is co-creator of NYC’s best known live-electronic music party Warper. He is also an active educator, producer, sound designer and DJ.
